Content —Replace a SCORM Package
TraCorp LMS Quick Reference Guide (QRG)
Audience: Main Admin, Sub Admin, User Group Admin
Overview
Admin with the correct permissions can replace an existing SCORM package with a new one, while preserving all other settings related to that content, including the content code.
Enabled Permissions Required to Complete the Following Steps
- Content (User Group Admin, Sub Admin)
Note: Sub Admin and User Group Admin without access to complete these steps should review Permissions with a Main Admin.
Update a SCORM Package
- From Admin Navigation, click Content.
- Locate the SCORM package to update.
- Double-click to open the content’s properties window.
- Use the arrows at the top of the Edit Content window to navigate and select the Upload SCORM Package tab.
Upload SCORM Package Tab
- Click Choose File to locate the new SCORM package.
-
Select one of the options: SCORM Package is an updated version or SCORM Package is a different content.
- Use SCORM Package is an updated version if the current SCORM Package Manifest IDs and Suspend Data (bookmarking) for the course will be kept in the LMS, and the course files will be updated to the new SCORM package.
- Use SCORM Package is a different content if the current SCORM Package Manifest IDs and Suspend Data (bookmarking) for the course will be deleted from the LMS, and the course files will be updated to the new SCORM package.
- Click the Delete existing files check box if the existing files for the course will be deleted prior to the upload of the new SCORM package. This option can be used with both the SCORM Package is an updated version and the SCORM Package is a different content selection options.
- Click Save at the bottom of the window.
Note: The files will only be deleted if the course passes the validation of our upload process. If the course does not pass validation, the upload will exit, and the current course files will not be deleted.
Best Practices
Check whether the current SCORM package is actively in use, and assess the potential impact to determine the best time to upload a new version, as it will overwrite the current version.
