Note: The Student Interface in use must be Novus III to use this feature.

Where Do I Enable Student Notifications?

• From Admin Navigation, select General Settings
• Select the Student Notifications tab
• Check the box labeled Enable Notifications
  
  • From here, you can configure which notifications are sent to users. We will go over this in the next section(s).

What Notification Options Exist?

• Notifications Show for __ Days - In the text field enter a number of days that the notification(s) display for. After this time period passes, unread notifications will not show to a user.
• Note that notifications are not sent retroactively. For instance, when a user is added to a User Group that has Content, Learning Track, or Certification assignments they will not receive any notifications. But, if Content, Learning Track, or Certification assignments are added to a User Group, the members of that group will receive a notification.

Content

• Content Item Assigned - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a piece of content being assigned to a student.
• Content Item Due Today - This notification will display the day the content item is due. Note: This notification requires LMS daily tasks to run, so same day notification is not possible.
• Content Item Due in __ Days - This notification will display on the day specified before the content item is due.
• Content Item Available - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a piece of content being made available to the student via a user group they are in. Note: This setting is only displayed when available content is enabled.

Certificates

• Content Certificate Available - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a piece of content with a certificate being assigned or made available to the student. Note: If both the Content Item Assigned and/or the Content Item Available notifications are enabled, the users will only get a notification for the Content Certificate Available, when applicable.
• Content Certificate Earned - This notification will display within 1 minute of the student completing a piece of content with a certificate.

Badges

• Content Badge Available - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a piece of content with a badge being assigned or made available to the student. Note: If both the Content Item Assigned and/or the Content Item Available notifications are enabled, the users will only get a notification for the Content Badge Available, when applicable.
• Content Badge Earned - This notification will display within 1 minute of the student completing a piece of content with a badge.

Classroom/Webinar Sessions

• Session Starts Today - This notification will display the day the session (classroom or webinar) that the student is registered for. Note: This notification requires LMS daily tasks to run, so same day notification is not possible.
• Moved from Waitlist to Roster - This notification will display within 5 minutes of the student being moved from the waitlist to the roster of a session (classroom or webinar).

Learning Tracks

• Learning Track Assigned to User - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a learning track being assigned to a student.
• Learning Track Available - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a learning track being made available to the student via a user group they are in.
• Learning Track Updated - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a learning track having content added or removed for all students it is assigned to.

Certifications

• Certification Assigned - This notification will display within 5 minutes of a certification being assigned to a student.
• Certification Expired - This notification will display the day the certification expires. 
• Certification Expires in __ Days - This notification will display on the day specified before the certification expires. For example, if a certification expires on 4/30/2022 and the Days value is set to '1', the notification will populate on 4/29/2022.
