How Do I Send Copies of an Email to an Email Address in a Registration Field

Email templates have the ability to have a copy sent to an email address listed in a selected registration field.

How Do I Enable this Feature?

  • On the Admin Navigation menu, select Registration Fields.
  • Make note of the Registration Field name that stores the email address for a user.
  • Next, on the Admin Navigation menu, select General Settings.
  • Select the Email tab.
  • From the drop-down labeled Send copy of student emails to other email, select the Registration Field name you made note of above.
  • From here, Choose which email templates to send copies for.
    • On the Admin Navigation menu, select Communications.
    • Double-click the email template you would like to send a copy of to open its properties in the Edit Email Template window.
      • Check the box labeled Send a copy (see General Settings -> Email).
      • Click Save at the bottom.

What Are the Limitations of This Feature?

  • This will only copy emails sent to Student and Instructor user types.
  • From within Communications -> Email History, the user will show as <blank> since we are targeting a registration field value and not a user.

How Do I Update the Language of the Email the Student/Instructor and User Copied Receives?

  • Download the Language Library file for your LMS.
    • On the Admin Navigation menu, select General Settings.
    • Select the Language tab.
    • Select the Export button to download the CSV of all strings in the LMS.
    • Search for these values:
      • ID - student_cc_email_disclaimer_html
      • ID - student_cc_email_disclaimer_text
    • Update the text with what you would like the language to be.
    • Save the CSV.
    • Go back to your LMS Language tab and click Import Language to import your CSV with the changes you just made.
