How to Configure Student Dashboards

Where are Dashboards Configured?

  • From General Settings, select the Student Dashboards tab.

Student Dashboard Default Layout:

This section is where the default dashboard layout is selected for students that do not have a custom dashboard assigned to their user group (more on custom dashboards for user groups below).

  • Top Row – Choose number of cards to configure.
  • Bottom Row – Choose number of cards to configure.
  • Note: A carousel(s) of cards allows for 4 to 10 cards to be cycled through horizontally.

List of cards that can be selected and a general description of that card:

  • Activity – lists In Progress training and New Training that have been assigned
  • All Content – displays a card with a pre-set image, that, when selected, takes the learner to a page that shows All Content

  • Assigned Content – lists all Assigned Content. Card includes a View All button that will take the learner to the Assigned Content page
  • Blank - Inserts a blank card to be used to space out other cards.
  • Calendar – displays a monthly calendar that shows Classroom and Webinar Sessions the learner is registered for
  • Certificates - lists all earned certificates and provides a download button next to each certificate
  • Certifications – lists all Certifications assigned and the percent complete
  • Classrooms – displays a card with a pre-set image, that, when selected, takes the learner to a Calendar page that shows Classroom Sessions they are registered for

  • Completed Content – displays a card with a pre-set image, that, when selected, takes the learner to a page showing Completed Content

  • Favorites – displays a card with a pre-set image, that, when selected, takes the learner to a page that shows Favorited Content

  • Learning Tracks – lists Learning Tracks assigned to the learner
  • Notifications – lists all Active Notifications (notifications needs to be enabled in General Settings -> Student Notifications)
  • News - lists all active News items
  • Programs -lists programs assigned and completion status
  • Reports - allows students to download their activity report and transcript
    • choose the default report that is displayed; either student activity or student transcript
  • Session Content - lists sessions (webinar or classroom) available to the student and displays whether they are registered, not registered, or on the wait-list
    • choose to show all session content (box unchecked) or assigned content only (box checked); default is all content
  • Tags – list of Content Tags or Learning Track Tags for content assigned to the user. View All button will take the learner to a page to view all tags in the LMS
  • Text -allows for custom text to be input onto this card, along with basic HTML to format the text or add an image
  • Transcript – displays a card with a pre-set image, that, when selected, downloads the learner’s transcript

  • Video Modules - lists assigned video modules (Video Modules must be enabled in General Settings -> General Administration)
  • Webinarsdisplays a card, that, when selected, takes the learner to a Calendar page that shows Webinars they are registered for

  • Welcome – displays a card with a pre-set Welcome message for the learner. It shows which piece of content they left off with and has an Assigned Content button that takes them to the Assigned Content page
  • Menu – displays a card with a menu configured in the Menus tab in General Settings. If there are no menus configured, please configure one in General Settings -> Menus
  • Badges – lists badges in the system, how many the learner has earned, and has a View All button that takes the learner to a page to view all badges in the LMS

User Group Student Dashboard Templates:

With this option selected , Welcome Pages can be created and associated with specific User Groups within the system. If a User Group is associated with a Welcome Page Template, the default will be ignored for learners in that group. If a learner is a member of more than one User Group that has a User Group Welcome Page Template, the most specific User Group’s User Group Welcome Page Template will display to the user.
